New Player Guide

So you have joined the server and find yourself in the Spawn world and wondering what to do next? This guide will aim to give you a brief understanding on what to do next to get playing Minecraft.

When you first join PigSMP you join in the server Spawn world in the back of a truck that has rescued you.

Spawn

From here you can either exit the truck and speak to the server owner NPC or use the command /rtp world to leave spawn and joining that main world players build and play in.

welcome NPC

After talking to the NPC you can enter the "main" building to the right and in the top level you will find a farm. Crops harvested here auto regenerate so feel free to take as many as you need to get yourself started on the server.

Spawn Player Farm

You will also see a scorboard on the right hand side of your screen containing information about you like rank, balance and more. If you prefer to play without this you can toggle it on and off with the /sb command.

Scoreboard

The Overworld is where the majority of players like to setup bases and claim land although if you wish you can do this in the Overworld_nether or Overworld_the_end, these are both the servers main Nether and End worlds. We have a Server Map you can use to locate an area to make your home, it will allow you to view players current locations for those logged in and playing.

Once you have found somewhere to build a home you can use the command /lands create <name> to create your initial claim. If the claim has been created successfully you will see a Claim Block placed in the location you are stood. To expand the claim you can either stand in chunks connected to your claim and type /lands claim or type /lands claim auto and then walk around the area you wish to expand you land claim into. To see an indepth guide of how to claim land check out the Lands page of the wiki.
